Welcome To The Jungle - Never Once again
Venus Records
Presented in Jewel Case

Book Two of these legendary sessions recorded at

Graceland these are pure gold as these are the last studio sessions recorded past Elvis and like the FTD release The Jungle Room Sessions they go to evidence Elvis was in smashing vocalization and spirit different the official Albums of the solar day From Elvis Presley Boulevard & Moody Blue these seemed to cast a shadow over the recordings partly in they way they were mixed and possibly partly because these were the last ii albums we got of Elvis in the studio?
At present we are treated every bit the adept sometime FTD did all those years ago with The Jungle Room Sessions here for the second fourth dimension more complete sessions in some cases non and then consummate but more than complete than we could ever take dreamed of a few years ago. Here as advertised on the back cover of Never Once again - the next volume "The Last Bye" letsouthward hope this is released soon, every bit we tin never abound tired of this material..

The CD contains every known available accept of "Danny Boy", "Never Once again" and "Honey Coming Down" including the undubbed chief accept and the dubbed master takes for each song.
The CD is similar the first Volume presented in a jewel case with a nicely designed 16-page booklet and well written liner notes from which we have come to expect.
Recordings on this outing characteristic from February 5 to Feb 7, 1976. Down in the Jungle Room as we have all now get accustomed to calling it.

The CD starts with:
take five of "Danny Boy". Elvis can be heard giving the order "gimme a key!". The take ends after 01.46 minutes. Elvis wasn't very happy with the key when he had to sing the loftier notes. Up until and then he was doing well.
Take half dozen Elvis struggles at the same point and interrupted himself. For the next take he changed the key again as hes notwithstanding unhappy with it.
Elvis interrupted
Take 7 as he did on accept 6 clearing his throat and commenting "I got to much sh*t in me. I'd like to practise it in C. That'southward where I'd like to do it meliorate."
Have 8 equally released on FTDs "The Jungle Room Sessions".
Have 9 as released on "Platinum" disc 4
Have 10 is the master without overdubs.
next upward "Never Once again" from the midnight recording on the next evening. Elvis seems to be in a reasonably expert mood as he light-heartedly interrupts the commencement accept with:-
Have i after a few seconds if you'd pay attending...y'all know....... Y'all guys've been in musi- in the studio too long, sittin' there with "click, click, click....one, two, three, fo"... You lot know, get loose.. due north alive!.. you lot know, like yous exercise on stage? Glen (or someone): Well, we were all drunk, and then! Elvis: Well, get drunk now - fu##, man I'll get you then goddam bombed you won't even know where you're at... Bring out the booze..... Grandma! (everyone laughs). Elvis Grandma Dodger lived in a room just along from the kitchen, which was next to the Den where Elvis was recording,
Takes 2 and 3 are only a few seconds long, but this is where we get to hear some conversation between Elvis, the musicians and Felton Jarvis, these gems are nore interesting at times than the music.
Take 4 is a consummate take. Elvis finished it with the remark "Correct!" commenting that he wasn't to unsatisfied with it.
Take 5 is also a complete and Elvis is nailing it each time.
Accept 6 is but forty seconds only and is proceeded past a quick rehearsal.
Accept seven is a long false start,. with Elvis cussing "G*damn it!"
Accept eight over again a false start with Elvis discussing part of the song.
Have 9 is a complete. And some other fine version.
Take 10 starts with Elvis remarking "attempt 65". The have ends shortly after in another fake outset..
Have eleven as released on "The Jungle Room Sessions",
Have 12 is but a false start Felton announces take 13 but so fourteen equally if he thought he made a error in the take number?
Take 14 is the undubbed master. As released on many kick CDs over the years.
"Never Once more" section ends with the dubbed master.
The other song from this midnight session was "Honey Coming Downwards".
Take 1 ends after a false start.
Take 2 is a consummate and good take running for 3.08 min.
Have three every bit on "The Jungle Room Session" where it was wrongly listed as take ii.
Accept iv equally on "Fabricated In Memphis"
Accept five. Undudded primary as released on diverse other boot CDdue south but not in this quality
The CD finishes with the master take when yous listen straight after the undubbed recordings you can but wonder what Felton was listening to
If you get the chance to selection this up do information technology you wont regret information technology the sound throughout is stunning and a running time just under 60 minutes this CD leaves you wishing it was a touch longer mayhap with takes 1 four of Danny Boy maybe 1 day, till so its hands a 10 out of x
